Go Girl Ep. 153: How to Take Care Of Yourself After Leaving a Toxic Relationship
Hey, girls!
This month is Domestic Violence Awareness month, and I’ve shared signs of abuse in previous episodes, so in today’s podcast I’m sharing how to heal after leaving a toxic relationship. Self-care is crucial after experiencing abuse, as it can help survivors heal, regain their sense of self-worth, and rebuild their lives.
So I was a speaker at the Trauma to Triumph panel earlier this year and now is the perfect time to share the conversation. My portion was about self-care after abuse. Engage in self-care activities that make you feel good and promote your physical and emotional well-being. This might include exercise, meditation, yoga, journaling, reading, or creative hobbies.
Listen in as I share some affirmations, some tools that you can use to heal, journal prompts, and the plethora of emotions I experienced after leaving an emotionally abusive relationship. I also explain the difference between self-care and self-love!
