Go Girl Ep 53: Be Part of The Change, Not The Trend in Regards to Racism and Police Brutality

#BlackLivesMatter is not just a hashtag, it’s a movement that campaigns against violence and systemic racism towards black people.

The recent murder of George Floyd, another unarmed Black man killed by a white cop, has sparked an international outcry to end racism and police brutality. We are tired and fed up. People of all races and backgrounds are protesting and are continuing the fight to demand change.

I just want to make sure we don’t stop fighting once the protests end. I protested with my father. I posted on social media. I signed petitions. I created art to express how I feel. I’ve used my website to speak up about injustices in the past and shared a poem urging the police to Stop The Madness.

What’s next? This can NOT be another hashtag. This can NOT be a trend. We MUST keep having uncomfortable conversations. We MUST see CHANGES.

In this episode, I have girl talk about different conversations we need to have, my experience protesting, and how we can use our voice to make some real changes.
