Go Girl Ep 34: “The Day I Called The Police I Knew It Was Over” My Story of Domestic Violence Ft. Trish Steele
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
This topic is important to me for more reasons than one, but the most recent situation is when I left an emotionally abusive relationship. The day I called the police I knew it was over.
Abuse isn’t just physical. Emotional abuse leaves scars that no one can see. If you have ever freed yourself from this type of relationship then GO GIRL because you are strong and brave! I know it wasn’t easy.
You are not alone.
The healing journey after is ongoing, but you will be okay. Honestly, I learned to love myself more which sparked my “Go Girl Guidebook: A Woman’s Interactive Guide to Self-Love.” I’ve healed so that I can help others heal.
I brought in Trish Steele, founder of Safe Passage Heals who shares her own story of abuse which put her in the hospital. She’s a survivor just like you. Listen in as we have girl talk about the warning signs of an abusive relationship and how to break the cycle.
Please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline for more resources 800-799-7233.
Plus I’ll give this week’s affirmation, music motivation and woman to celebrate.
